Information about the new The Ford Ka
The original Ford Ka proved to be a massively successful model for Ford, meaning the company has a great deal riding on any upgrade versions of the Ka. It is important for Ford to strike the correct balance between offering a genuine improvement on the original without sacrificing the qualities that made the original version of the Ford Ka such a hugely popular small car.
The first thing to not, when looking at the new edition, is the increase in size. Although the Ford Ka has not seen its size increase at the level of some of Ford’s other models, the new version is unquestionably larger than before. That said, it is still very much pitched as a car for city driving, able to move nimbly around areas with congested traffic and sharp corners, which keeps it broadly in the same area as its predecessor. The new Ford Ka for sale has an additional weight of around 70kgs, but the major changes to the car are inside, rather than out. The new version was created and developed in collaboration with Fiat, which means that large parts of the car bear a distinct similarity to the Fiat 500 or the Panda.
The cars were put together in the same factory in Poland and utilise around 70 percent of the same parts – with the chassis and other parts being the same. There are further similarities in the way the air vents and stereo are mounted and the setting of the up and down switches on the windows at the front of the car. In other areas though, the design is all Ford’s own – such as the cabin and the body – while the company are also responsible for the suspension system. The car that it most resembles in the driving process is another Ford model – the Fiesta – and overall the new model offers an agile driving experience.
